Happy Thursday Readers!

It's OK...that it's Thursday which means the weekend officially starts tonight!

It's OK...that Monday is President's Day which means no classes, no internship, no work! YAY for a three day weekend.

It's (not) OK...that I have my first exam of the semester next thursday so a majority of this weekend will be spent studying...womp womp

It's OK...that I'm going to see the Vow this weekend with my roommates! CANNOT WAIT!

It's (REALLY) OK...that big little week starts NEXT WEEK! Even though I'm a great grand big (oh my gosh I'm OLD) I still love to obsess over our three new additions to the princess phamily! I can't wait for reveal!

It's OK...that I spent Valentine's Day with my best friends- couldn't have picked better people to spend the day with!

Top 5 Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday Readers!

And Happy Valentine's Day to all of you who have a loved one to celebrate with! I have to say this holiday is a bit (insert VERY) depressing for me so I'll be celebrating with cocktails and a few friends tonight! No reason to spend Valentine's Day alone! Anyways, I'm linking up with Just Peachy for Top 5 Romantic Comedies! I will 100% not watch any romantic comedies at any point today for fear of extreme waterworks ahaha but here are my top 5 romantic comedies (aka rocos'!) in no particular order.

1. You've Got Mail

This movie is sooo 1998 but I can literally watch it over and over again. It could be that I've always been a big Meg Ryan fan (and Tom Hanks- helloo Forrest Gump?!). I also loved, loved the little book shop and the secret email affair that they had and how they finally came together at the end! AH! As I said, could literally watch it over and over again! Most underrated movie of the 90s.

2. Breakfast at Tiffany's

I feel like I would be betraying my love for Audrey if I didn't mention Breakfast at Tiffany's. I absolutely love anything and everything about this movie and Audrey Hepburn. Nothing more needs to be said.

3. A Walk To Remember

Such a sad movie, but also such an amazing love story. I was in love with this movie in Junior High and remember counting down the days until it came out on DVD. I became OBSESSED with Shane West and desperately wanted a junior high version of him to whisk me off my feet (sigh...that never happened).

4. The Notebook

I mean how could I not mention the Notebook- one of the most classic, popular RoCo's of all time. I can probably quote 70% of this movie (don't judge). Again, this a movie I can watch over and over again and would never get sick of Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling (ever).

5. Friends With Benefits

This is one of the more recent romantic comedies I've seen (aka I saw it on Saturday for the first time) and I really, really liked it! The one-liners in this movie were SO good and the love story wasn't so bad either! And who doesn't love a good Justin Timberlake movie?

Happy Monday lovely readers!

I am so so terribly sorry for my recent absence from the blog world. I mentioned in one of my last posts that I was having a hard time adjusting to this semester and my new schedule and I think I just needed a whole week with no distractions to just get used to my work load and my schedule and figure out where everything fit in together! But I think I've finally found my groove again and have found a routine that works with my schedule! Between interning, classes and my part-time job things can get a bit hectic but I don't want to leave blogging behind since I've come to love it so, so much! I hope you didn't give up on me because I'm back to regular blogging!

This has been an interesting month transitioning back to a regular schedule and interning downtown instead of just spending the majority of my week on campus. So these are my top 5 favorite things that have gotten me through this month!

2. Lilly Pulitzer Planner

The only way I've been able to keep track of my busy schedule and all of my assignments! Literally this contains my LIFE!

3. L.L. Bean Riding Jacket

Some of you might know that I had debated purchasing this jacket in the beginning of the month because I had missed the sale- butt I was lucky enough to stumble on a 20% off coupon and made the jump and purchases the jacket! Such a good decision! I love it- and it's perfect for the odd in-between days, when it feels like spring in the afternoon but then feels like the dead of winter circa 5pm!

4. AEPhi's Alpha Xi New Member Class

All of my chapter's effort paid off when we received 51 AMAZING new members at this month's Bid Day! They're so amazing, cute, fun -AH just so obsessed with them all and I can't wait to get to know them all better!

5. Pretty Little Liars

Judge me, it's fine- I probably deserve it but this has been by far my favorite show of the month! I literally cannot wait for a new episode every week and I love that ABC Family rarely shows re-runs. I used to get sooo frustrated that we will probably never learn of A's true identity- but then I got over it because between all the suspense and love stories- this show has got me hooked!

Happy Saturday Readers!

First of all, I want to apologize for being such a bad blogger this week :( For some reason I'm having a really hard time settling into the semester and finding a routine! I'm not sure what it is but my days feel so off and I always feel all over the place. I also keep making To Do lists but rarely have the energy to get anything done! Senioritis maybe? Or just overall laziness? I'm not sure since I'm really not a lazy person overall but I think since this is the first semester that I'm interning downtown and have a different schedule- it's been throwing me off a bit! But anyways, I'm LOVING my internship! The office is small but set in Beacon Hill which is in downtown Boston. Walking to work through the Boston Commons is the best! Every time I commute to my internship I realize that I could totally see myself doing this everyday and realize that I do really love Boston and want to stay here after graduation!

I also just got a job at a tanning salon across the street from my apartment (random, I know) but with my internship I had to give up my on-campus job so I needed something part-time and somewhere that was open on the weekends! So that was good news since I desperately need extra cash haha but also it will make my schedule a bit busier!

Anyways, I stayed in last night in the attempts to wake up early to spend the entire day catching up with homework and life and then tonight I'm heading out downtown for a friends birthday!

I promise that I'm going to be a better blogger this week! I just need to find my groove again! Is anyone else having a hard time adjusting to the new semester or even new year? Any advice?!

Happy Tuesday Readers!

I hope everyone's week is off to a great start! It's 52 degrees in Boston but I swear it feels like 75! I was sweating walking to class! I wish this meant it was officially the beginning of Spring but for some reason I think I'll be back in my North Face and Uggs next week in the middle of a snowstorm. The weather has just gotten so unpredictable!

Yesterday was the first day at my internship and I can already tell that I'm really going to like it! It was a little overwhelming and I know I have a lot to learn about the systems the company uses and more about the industry in general, but overall I'm really excited about the whole experience!

Anyways, I'm linking up with Rachel for Top 5 Tuesday! This is definitely my favorite link up of the week and especially this week because it's top 5 favorite recipes!

1. Brie En Croute

SO delicious! And easier to make than you think! Also you can buy the jam and pecans in bulk so you use them in the future and they won't spoil!

2. Autumn Chopped Salad

I don't make this exact recipe at home but something very similar! I would probably substitute the feta cheese for blue cheese!

3. Broccoli and White Cheddar Mac & Cheese

So I actually made this recipe last night for dinner because my roommate and I had our "pearl sisters" (new members who get paired with older sisters every week and you're supposed to take them to dinner or coffee to make them feel more welcomed in our chapter). It was SO DELICIOUS! I added a bit more cheese and used a little less broccoli (haha it definitely wasn't a healthy dish). It was easier than we thought it was going to be and definitely a crowd pleaser!

4. Cake Batter Cookies

I haven't had the chance to make these but don't they look delicious! Reminds me of funfetti cookies!

5. White Sangria Sparkler

The BEST sangria! And so easy to make!

Happy Monday Readers!

I'm currently sitting in the communications student lounge killing time until I have to take the train downtown to the first afternoon at my internship! I'm so excited/nervous but I'm confident that it's going to be a great experience. I just had my first Event Planning and Management class this morning with one of my favorite BU professors. I can already tell this is going to be my all-time favorite class, especially since it solely focuses on the field that I want to go into! The projects sounds challenging and a bit stressful but I know I'll be able to learn a ton and it will force me to be more creative.

So some of my lovely blogger friends have tagged me in the fun blog game last week but I didn't have a chance to answer because of the craziness of Recruitment- so here I am finally getting back in the swing of things! I'll try to follow the rules as best as I can- but I'm not going to tag any other bloggers because it seems like everyone has already participated!

Fun Facts:

1. I was born and raised in Queens, NY (one of the five boroughs of NYC) but am a converted Bostonian!

2. I have two half-sisters and one niece and one nephew who I absolutely adore!

3. One of my sisters lives in German with her family! I miss them so much but it gives my family a great excuse to travel to Europe!

4. The only pet I've ever had was a fish :( that's what you get for growing up in apartment buildings in a city! Once I get settled in my own apartment with my own job- one of the first things I plan on doing is get a puppy! I can't wait!

5. I don't drive- as in I don't have a license! Laugh at me, judge me, I don't blame you- this is so embarrassing! I just have never had a reason to get a license since I could walk or take public transportation everywhere growing up and at college!

6. I just finished my one year term as President of Alpha Epsilon Phi at BU!

7. I would rather eat chips and dip than cake any day- I'm a religious snacker!

8. I really can't dance to save my life but I love Zumba! One of my friends at school is an instructor and I love sneaking into her classes.

9. I love Lilly Pulitzer! I worked at the NYC store this past summer and now my closet is full of great Lilly pieces. And my school bag is full of Lilly stationary and I live by their planners.

10. I want to stay in Boston after I graduate! Crossing my fingers I get a job here!

11. My parents are considering moving up to Massachusetts once I get settled here! They're over Queens and would love a change of scenery- plus my parents and I are really close (my mom is one of my best friends) so I would absolutely love having them close by!

YES! During the week, I wear Burberry Sport but for a night out I wear Chloe!

I love breakfast foods! On the weekend I try to make eggs but during the week I'll have cottage cheese with fruit, oatmeal, or an english muffin and peanut butter. I ALWAYS have a cup of coffee in the morning (or two...)

6. If you had a free weekend, where would you go and why?
Hmmm this is a hard one buttt in an ideal world I would visit my sister and her kids in Germany! I only get to see them about twice a year so I would love to visit them any chance I get!

7. What is your guilty pleasure?
TV (I have a list of about 8 TV shows I try to watch every week).

8. What is your all-time favorite movie? Why?
I think I've mentioned this but I'm not really a big movie person but I love any Audrey Hepburn movie!

In store! I never know how sizes will fit on me so I usually don't buy anything online unless it's accessories, shoes or jackets.

10. Do you have a work out routine? If so, what is it?
Well, I try to work out at least 4 times a week and always do 30-45 minutes of cardio plus abs and either arms or legs. It's not the strictest of routines but I'm trying to get better at it!

Happy Saturday Readers!

First of all, I apologize for going MIA the last week! I've missed blogging and keep up with all of you so much! But after a crazy, sleepless week I'm finally back in action! Recruitment is finally over and we have 51 new alpha xis! All the stress, sleepless nights and cheering was most definitely worth it! I love all our new babies already and I can't wait to get to know them better. Here are some photos recapping the last week:

This was by far the most emotional night of the entire weekend. Going through my last preference night and having the opportunity to deliver a senior speech was so so special. I can't believe it was my last pref and really made me dread graduation!

Bid Night! One of my favorite nights of the year- when we get to welcome our new members into the chapter! It's such a great and fulfilling way to end a great weekend!

And then last night we had our first social of the semester. It was high school stereotypes so all the seniors decided to be a marching band! We looked ridiculous (and maybe more like magicians) but it was so so fun!

Starting this week, I'll be able to get back to a regular schedules and I start my internship on Monday! I can't wait to see what it has in store for me! I look forward to catching up with all your lovely blogs also!

Rise and Shine...It's Recruitment Time!

I will have to take a break from the blogging world for a few days because it's officially FORMAL RECRUITMENT TIME! This is the day my chapter has worked all year to prepare for and at the end of this weekend (a long, tiring, and sometimes stressful weekend) we will have 60 new members!! The best time of the year!

Happy Thursday Readers!

I hope everyone is having a good week! Today is dreadful in Boston- super cold and sooo much rain! Walking outside is like taking a shower!! Today I'm linking up with Neely and Amber for It's OK Thursdays!

It's OK...that I'm all settled into my apartment! My mom took me back on Tuesday afternoon and I spent all of yesterday grocery shopping, unpacking and organizing. It feels so good to be settled again! I hate when everything is scattered and not unpacked!

It's OK...that I ordered that L.L. Bean coat that I've had my eye on! Problem is- by the time I got around to ordering, the sale was over. I was SO disapointed! Lesson learned- don't let a good sale pass you by! But then this afternoon I got a 20% coupon- so I ended up getting the coat in black for the same price! YAY! (inset happy dance!)

It's (really) OK...how excited I am for the monogram swap hosted by Ashley and Crystal! I've become obsessed with anything monogrammed so this is the perfect swap! And since chances are I won't be celebrating valentines day haha this will be the perfect thing to cheer me up!

It's OK...that BU Formal Recruitment starts on Saturday! Even though recruitment is really tiring and can be very stressful, I'm still excited for it, especially since it's my last one! Just need to put the finishing touches on my senior speech and I'll be all set!

It's (really) OK...that I've gotten my butt back to the gym the last two days! Running and home- workouts were alright at home but I'm happy to be back at the gym and back to a routine.

Now moving on to one of my favorite link ups- Top 5 Tuesday with Rachel from Just Peachy! This week's theme is Top 5 School Supplies! I absolutely love buying and collecting school supplies since I was a little girl. I like to buy everything to color coordinate and match (call me OCD- that's fine!). Since I've worked at Lilly Pulitzer all of my stationary now comes from the store- i just can't help it! All of the pens and notebooks are just so cute! Since this is my last semester of classes, probably ever since I don't think I'll be attending grad school, it means it's probably the last time it's socially acceptable to carry around a pencil case full of pens and highlighters with matching note books and folders :( (insert depression here...)

1. Lilly Pulitzer Pencil Case!
I need a pencil case to carry around my highlighters, pens and such! I used to use a Vera Bradley case but after working at Lilly this past summer, I switched to this!

(It holds everything perfectly!)

2. Pens! Pens! Pens!

My favorite are the blue Bic Ultra Round Stic- I use those to take notes in, my aephi pen, and I just purchased the personalized pin from Etsy!

3. My lifesaver- Bic, 4 Color Pen! This is my lifesaver! I used to carry around different colored pens but this was just such a space saver! I need to color-code my planner or else my anxiety is up the wall (a tad crazy- I know) so this pen is necessary!

4. Lilly Pulitzer Planner in Luscious!

My LIFE is in this planner! Everything I do, need is written in here! I've used a Lilly planner for the past two years but I think after graduation, I'm going to switch to something new!

5. Notebooks and post-it notes!

NECESSARY to keep my organized-I have many different types and sizes but my favorite are the ones from Lilly of course!!

Current Read and NEED ADVICE!

Happy Monday Readers!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I usually like to do a Weekend Recap post on Mondays but I have absolutely nothing to recap you on haha because I did a whole lot of nothing this weekend but loved every second of it! Just hung out with family, read, watched movies and TV...speaking of TV did anyone watch Once Upon A Time, Desperate Housewives, AND Panam last night? Jeez, I was glued to my TV for 3 hours (woops!). I thought each episode was really good and I can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for us!

Anyway back to my thrilling weekend (aka not...) I did get to finish one of my books that was on my winter break reading list. I finished Heart of the Matter by Emily Griffin last night and absolutely loved it! It definitely had a bit of a slow start and it took me till about 40% (I have a kindle haha so it tells me the percentage that I've read at the bottom of the screen) to really get into it but when I did- I could not put it down. I don't want to give anything away but the story absolutely broke my heart and I'm not ashamed to say that a few tears were definitely shed during multiple points of the book. The story was sad but inspiring at the very same time. I'm a big fan of Emily Griffin and this book did not disappoint!

Now on to needing all of my blog friends advice! I've been looking for a new jacket recently- something to wear in between my peacoat and my huge North face jacket (seriously it's like a sleeping bag) and stumbled across the LL Bean sale online! I think I've seen a few bloggers with the Quilted Riding Jacket and really would appreciate your advice! Is it worth the $80? Will it actually keep me warm or is it comparable to a peacoat in terms of warmth? And better yet- how does the sizing go? I'm usually a small or medium in tops so would it better to get a medium?

Sorry for all the questions but I want to make sure the jacket is worth it before investing! Thanks in advance for any advice you have!

Cheers to the Weekend! This is my last weekend home for winter break and I cannot wait to be back at school! Soon enough! Do you all have some exciting weekend plans? Can't wait to read about them!

Since I still consider myself fairly new to the blogging world (when is one officially not new to the blogging world?), I figure answering this little questionnaire would be a good way for you all to get to know me a little better :) I saw this survey on one my new favorite reads Carolina Queen and thought it was perfect. Well...here goes nothing...

1. What time did you get up this morning? 9:00 am! I woke up a bit earlier because I have some work to do before family stuff- but now I'm blogging...woops!

2. How do you like your steak? Medium!- I don't eat steak so so often but when I eat it at a restaurant that's how I order it!

3. What was the last movie you saw at the theater? New Year's Eve with my friend Paula from high school- I loved it! I had never seen Valentine's Day (which I heard was awful) so I went in with an open mind and left the theatre very pleased!

4. What is your favorite TV show? This is a tough one- if you've been reading my blog, you know by now that I'm a TV junkie! But my favorite show of ALL TIME is hands-down....Gilmore Girls. I'm not embarrassed to admit that I own every season on DVD and could watch them over and over again!

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Most definitely Boston. I fell in love with the city from the start of college and enjoy it so much more than my home city of NYC (shocking, I know) but I just really enjoy that it's a rather large city but has a neighborhood-y, small-town kinda feel (well I guess I don't really know what a small-town feels like since I've only ever lived in cities!).

6. What did you have for breakfast? Coffee (duh), whole-wheat english muffin with peanut butter and an apple (trying to stick to those new year's resolutions!)

7. Do you wear glasses or contacts? Contacts! Well both I guess, I wear glasses when I'm home (in the morning/at night) but wear contacts to work, class, the gym, basically anytime I step outside of my apartment haha.

8. What food do you despise? Ummmm...I don't really despise any food? Nor does any food really freak me out haha but I guess I'm not really a fan of brussels sprouts- but hey I'll try anything once!

9. Favorite Place to Eat? Ummmm....anywhere? I literally love going out to eat and loveee trying new restaurants. I love Chinese, Japanese and Thai food and it's something I can't make at home so I love frequenting those types of restaurants. I rarely eat Italian out since I think my mom makes better Italian food than any restaurant I've ever been to (call me snobby, whatever!)

10. Favorite dressing? Balsamic Vinaigrette- can be healthy and delicious!

11. What kind of vehicle do you drive? Nadda...I actually don't drive- public transportation is this girl's best friendd.

12. What are your favorite clothes? I'm ALL about comfort! Big sweaters, scarves, leggings or jeans with riding boots.

13. Where would you visit, this weekend, if you had the chance? Alright ladies don't judge but I really would love to travel to somewhere in the South! All I read about are these great southern cities that you all live in and I would love to see what they're really like! I'm a northern girl born and raised but it would be fun to give the dirty south a try!

14. How many tattoos do you have? None- terrified of getting one and my mother would disown me.

15. Where would you want to retire? haha I have NO idea- how about I figure out where I'm going to live after college graduation first.

16. What is your desktop photo? One of Carly's from The College Prepster homemade backgrounds!

17. Where were you born? NYC baby!

18. What is your favorite sport to watch? ummm not that biggest of sports fans- but I guess a football game will hold my attention the longest.

19. How many siblings? two half-sisters that I adore! One lives in Manhattan and the other up and moved to Germany with her hubby and my niece and nephew!

20. Favorite pastime/hobby? blogging/facebook/pinterest/twitter/g-mail/gosh anything online? I also love reading and watching some t.v.!

21. Coffee Drinker? YES! religiously! I think I pray to the coffee gods! I make my own coffee everyday!

23. Are you a morning person or a night person? Probably a combo-depends on the day and what's going on. I tend to be more productive in the morning though.

24. Do you have any pets? No :( I cannot wait to get a puppy of my own once I graduate!

It's OK Thursdays!

Happy Thursday Readers!

It's OK...that I go back to Boston next Tuesday. I'm loving the time off from school and getting to spend time with my family but I'm ready to get back into the swing of things and back to a normal schedule. Staying in PJs till noon is getting a bit old...

It's OK...that I received my first monogrammed scarf from Marley Lilly the other day! I chose a pink scarf with a Khaki monogram to match the gloves and earmuffs I wear at school! I'm really loving the monogram but I wish the scarf was a bit longer!

It's OK...that I made a trip to TJ Maxx yesterday and came back with Nike Norts, Lilly Pulitzer note cards, Apple Cinnamon Scone Mix, and Banana Chips for under $25! I lovee a trip to TJ Maxx!

It's (not that) OK...that my sorority's formal recruitment is in a little over a week! I cannot believe this will be my last recruitment ever! I remember when I went through recruitment three years ago like it was yesterday! I'm so excited for our new members (whoever they may be!).

It's OK that...I'm going into the city today to one of the biggest shoe sales of the year! I'm looking for new loafers! Hopefully I'll be able to find something!

It's OK that...I created a button! Or at least I tried to-still trying to figure some of this blogging stuff out! I added some of my favorite read's buttons to my blog and feel free to grab mine!

And more importantly Happy New Year's Eve!!

Typically my New Year's Eve consists of either staying in with parents or friends or going out to local bar aka something casual- but this year me and my friends from college decided to do NYE big in Manhattan. We figure we're all graduating soon so why not start off the year with a bang! We all bought tickets for a venue in downtown Manhattan and I'm so excited!!

I found this dress at Forever 21 for $32.50! It was the last one left in the entire store and I'm so happy with it!

New Year's Resolutions

Happy Friday Readers!

Today I would like to share with you my New Year's Resolutions! I make resolutions every year but I'll be honest- I'm not usually the best at sticking to them. I think it's often because I make them too general or ambiguous andd most importantly I typically don't write them down. So, this year, I've decided on 5 New Year's Resolutions. They are a bit general but I have some more specific ideas about how to keep them. And this year not only am I writing them down, but I'm sharing them with all of you!

Resolution #1

Keep up with current events.

Since that I'm graduating in May, I think it's more important than ever to keep up to date with what is going on in our country and in the world. Intelligent people are more informed. I would like to think I am intelligent so it's about time to be more informed.

My homepage is now the New York Times- I aim to at least read over the headlines of the top stories to keep up with current events.

Resolution #2

Be smarter with $$

I need to start realizing that it's really not necessary to purchase 5 beige sweaters- 2 are probably more than enough. Or the $5 cereal at the supermarket cannot taste that much better than the $2 one. I need to be especially careful with how I'm spending my money this semester since soon enough I will be out on my own and I will have to rely on myself to pay rent, bills, groceries, etc.

I will keep receipts from each week and try to tally up how much I spend and to see where I can cut down and what's wasteful spending. I will spend a bit more time looking for online coupons and deals!

Resolution #3

Keep up with Pink Zin!

When I started Pink Zin in October, I never thought I would fall so in love with blogging. I have really found a hobby that I enjoy and I want to keep this up in 2012. I so appreciate my followers and readers and can't wait to keep up with you all in the new year.

In honor of the new year, my dedication to Pink Zin, anddd for reaching over 50 followers- I will hosting my FIRST giveaway this Monday, January 2nd! Keep on the look out- it's going to be a great one :)

Resolution #4

Stick to an active/healthy lifestyle

I think this is a general resolution I make every year but this is something I really want to stick to this year. I religiously do not use a scale because I don't trust numbers and I'm a firm believer that it matters how you feel and how your clothes are fitting. But my goal is to do some some sort of cardio/gym/yoga 4 times a week. I also aim to only order in food once a week. This should save me $$ (see resolution #2) and cut down calories.

Resolution #5

Leave the Past in the Past

This past year has a been a whirlwind of events and emotions. I've experienced more ups and downs during 2011 than ever before. Dealing with a horrible, emotional breakup, the loss of my grandfather, and sickness plaguing my family- 2011 has in no way been an easy year for me. But in 2012 I resolve to leave the past in the past. Time for a fresh start, new beginnings. I'm confident and hopeful that things will get better in 2012. Though I know the next 6 months will being major change in my life, I'm ready for it and looking forward to what my future will bring. In 2012 I want to leave the past in the past and move on to a better and healthier future.

Well there you have it! You all have to help me keep these resolutions!

Christmas Present Recap!

As I mentioned earlier this week I really would like to share some of the wonderful Christmas presents that I received this year with you all!! I've read on a lot of other blogs about the important line to draw between bragging and simply sharing, and it's something I completely agree with! I do not think the Internet is the appropriate place to brag or boast about what you received for Christmas when there are so many horrible things going on in the world today. BUT I do enjoy a general overview and sum up of the Christmas presents that you've all received so I would like to share the same with you :) I am so grateful and thankful for everything I received this year and could not be happier!

Baking Recap and Recipes!

Happy Wednesday Readers!

I can't believe winter break is halfway over! I feel like I just arrived home yesterday! Things certainly have been busy but I've loved every second of it! Last week I was super busy baking in preparation for Christmas and thought I would share with you a few recipes that I've collected over the years and are big crowd pleasers! These cookies can be made for any occasion- not just the holiday season! Please let me know if you have any questions about the recipes!

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 oz dark chocolate, coursely chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp red food coloring
- 2/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt

- 8-oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350F. Line an 8- or 9-inch square baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease.
In a small, heatproof bowl, melt butter and chocolate together. Stir with a fork until very smooth. Set aside to cool for a few minutes.
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla extract and red food coloring. Add in the chocolate mixture and stir until smooth. Batter should be red. If a brighter red is desired, add an additional 1/2 tsp food coloring. Add flour and salt into the bowl and stir until everything is just combined and no streaks of dry ingredients remain.
Pour into prepared pan and spread into an even layer.
Prepare cheesecake mixture. In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Drop in dollops onto prepared brownie batter. Gently swirl two batters with a butter knife.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, until brownies and cheesecake are set. A knife inserted into the cheesecake mixture should come out clean and the edges will be lightly browned.
Cool in the pan completely before slicing and serving, either at room temperature or chilled.
Brownies can be refrigerated, covered, for several days.
Makes 16 large brownies or 24 smaller brownies

Pecan Danties

- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened

- 1/2 cup sugar

- 2 cups flour

- 1 teaspoon vanilla

- 2 cups finely chopped pecans (use food processor)

- 1 tbls water

- Red and Green Sugar

Cream buttter and sugar together until light.
Add flour, vanilla, water and pecans. Mix well.
Chill until firm.
Preheat oven to 325F
Shape dough into balls and squash flat into either red or green sugar
Bake about 20 minutes!

**Use different colored sugar for different occasions (Valentine' Day?! Use pink!)**

Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 1/2 poun (2 stick) sweet butter, softened

- 1 cup brown sugar

- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- 2 eggs

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour

- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chops

Preheat oven to 325F, Grease a cookie sheet .
Cream butter and both sugars together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Sift dry ingredients together and stir in, mixing thoroughly. Add chocolate chips to batter and mix. Use an teaspoon to scoop out dough onto cookie sheet. Wet your hand with water and splat the dough into a 5-inch round.
Bake on prepared cookie sheet, on the middle of the rack, for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven while centers are slightly soft. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring cookies to a rack to cool completely.

Combining your homemade baked goods make great gifts also! I gave each on my coworkers on Christmas Eve a small goodie bag and they loved it!

1. Favorite Movie

Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2

I mean not only was this the first movie that came to my mind but it just is so much more than a movie! I was (and still am...) a HUGE HP fan since I was little! I started reading the books when I was about 9 or 10 and would wait at Barnes and Noble until midnight each time a new book was released. I could read a HP book in under a week I was so obsessed! I felt similarily about the movies when they came out! Deathly Hallows Part 2 perfectly summed up the end of the Harry Potter story and a small part of my childhood! I can't wait to watch it again (and again...)

2. TV Show

Gosh, this is a really hard one! I'm actually a bigger TV fan then movie fan (judge me, it's fine!) but I absolutely LOVE television and keeping up with shows each week! Even though I have SO many favorites (Glee, Desperate Housewives, Gossip Girl, Pan Am, Grey's, Pretty Little Liars...just to name a few) I think my favorite NEW show this fall is Hart of Dixie! I've actually blogged about this show before so I won't repeat myself but I'm really really liking the happy story line and of course Rachel Bilson is amazing (still a soft spot in my heart for her since her O.C. days...)

3. ~~Song~~ Book

Okay confession time...I'm not a big music person. Not that's not to say I don't like listening to music. I love it! I put on Pandora radio every time I'm home alone or studying. But I'm not a diehard, favorite band, loves going to concerts kinda girl. The best concert I ever went to was Britney Spears in the 4th grade...so yah haha that pretty much sums it all up.

SO instead I thought it was more appropriate to talk about my favorite book OR shall I say series...

HUNGER GAMES

4. Favorite Thing that Happened!

President of AEPhi

Definitely one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences this past year. My entire year was pretty much consumed with my sorority and though at some points I was definitely frustrated and stressed (like rip your hair out stressed) but I don't regret it for a second. I love every single one of my sisters and they have defined by college experience and I wouldn't change it for a second.

5. Favorite Christmas Present

This is really hard to narrow down since I really loved and appreciated all my Christmas presents this year! Even simple Christmas cards mean a lot to me! But I definitely think one of my favorites were All Wrapped Up Kate Spade earrings!

They're pretty simple and sweet but are just so sparkly! I love them!

Can you believe Christmas is over?! I think December 26th is one of the most depressing days of the year! Going to work this morning in an empty city was pretty depressing- at least it was an easy day!

I've been catching up with all of your blogs and it seems like everyone had a GREAT Christmas and Santa treated everyone super well! It was so nice spending this weekend with both sides of my family. Parts of this weekend were sad though...unfortunately my grandma, aunt and uncle had to stay in Florida this Christmas because of my Uncle's health :( It was very strange not celebrating with them since I've never celebrated Christmas without my Grandma but I guess as we all get older, things inevitably change. I keep telling myself that this just means that next Christmas, when everyone is in better health, we'll have the best holiday yet! Keep my uncle in your prayers for me- I would so appreciate it :)

Well anyways back to the weekend...we started on Thursday night celebrating my Dad's birthday! We all went out to dinner to one of his recently discovered Italian restaurants in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The dinner was yummy and my dad had a great time- which is the most important!

Today, I'm linking up with Katelyn from The Bluegrass Belle for Christmas favorites! Perfect timing since Christmas is just 3 DAYS AWAY!!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate! I never really got into Egg Nog buttt my mom used to make it from scratch which was pretty darn good!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? WRAP! of course! half the fun of getting presents from Santa is the unwrapping!

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Well since we live in an apartment, unfortunately we can't put any lights outside! So we do a mix of colored and white on our tree and white lights around our windows!

4. Do you hang mistletoe? No! Where does one even buy mistletoe?!

5. When do you put your decorations up? Probably the week after Thanksgiving! This year we waited a little longer because my niece and nephew were flying in from Europe and they wanted to help!

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Definitely, the "uncle willy" potatoes my Mom makes on Christmas day! The recipe has been passed down from an uncle from years ago and they're delish.

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? One Christmas morning when I was little, I was in the midst of opening presents when my parents told me that one present was hidden somewhere in our apartment. I starting searching every possible hiding spot that I could think of- thinking it must have been hidden pretty well since I hadn't stumbled upon it all of December! The next thing I know, I decide to check my parent's bedroom and I found my first bike!! My parents had hidden it at our neighbors apartment until Christmas Eve when my dad snuck it into his bedroom! I was so happy and it is definitely one of my favorite memories!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? When I found my presents in my moms closet one year :( I was about 9 years old. I still like to believe in the idea of Santa though!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? YES! Traditionally, I usually celebrate Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family and I get to open presents from my aunts and grandparents then. In the Italian culture Christmas Eve is almost more important than Christmas Day! It's always been a very important night in my family.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? We have lights and lots and lots of ornaments that my mom has collected throughout the year! She still has some that I made in nursery school!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? LOVE IT! I've always loved the first snow of the season and when I was little I would always run to the park a few blocks from my apartment to go sledding! It doesn't look like we're having a white christmas this year since it's over 50 degrees in NYC :(

12. Can you ice skate? YES! I actually used to compete when I was little before I switched over to swimming! Now I try to go ice skating at least once or twice in the winter for fun!

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I really always love all my Christmas presents! I can't think of one big one that stands out to be favorite- they're all special!

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you? Spending time with my family and surprising them with Christmas presents!

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Chocolate Chip Cookies andddd Strufelli! I'm not sure if anyone has had Strufelli before but it's a traditional italian dessert for Christmas. Essentially it's little fried dough balls dipped in honey and sprinkles! DELICIOUS!

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Hmmm... Everything? One of the highlights is when we play Mercante de Fare, which is an Italian card game on Christmas Day! It's so so much fun and my uncle or dad usually plays the "dealer". Guarantees a few laughs!

17. What tops your tree? An angel that we've had since I was a baby!

18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Both! I would be lying if I said I didn't like to receive gifts- but I do love giving just as much!

19. Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum? YUM! Not too many though!

20. Favorite Christmas show? ABC Family 25 Days of Christmas? So every Christmas show? Does that count...

21. Saddest Christmas Song? I honestly have no idea....I don't think I usually listen to the words of most Christmas songs- more background music to get in the holiday spirit!

22. What is your favorite Christmas song? Please don't judge- but most definitely "All I Want for Christmas is You"- I mean WHO doesn't love that song?

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving...my pillow that arrived in the mail last week from My Pink and Green Garden! I'm in love and it's so perfect!

It has a monogram in Lilly print!

I'm loving...the card I received from my Secret Santa!! Homemade also! It's perfect! I can't wait to get to know her better!

I'm loving...Panera and it getting me through finals! My regular order is half bistro onion and half Asian sesame salad- so good! Also you can keep refilling your coffee while you're studying (I may or may not have drank 3 iced coffees during this sitting- oy FINALS!)

I'm loving...that my roommate is finally back from LA which means her paddle can go back up on the wall in our apartment!! Mine is on the far left, then Jordan's, then Ashley's! I'm so happy we're all back to living together again!

I'm loving...my Christmas tree!

I'm (always) loving...my precious nephew!

I'm SO loving...these dark chocolate covered pretzels with peppermint! Such a good winter treat! I found them at Walgreen's this week!

I'm (always) loving...that I took my niece to get her first manicure ever today! So cute!!

I'm loving...the Christmas baking I did tonight! Pecan Cookies and Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies! More to come tomorrow!

I'm loving...Once Upon A Time! I wasn't turned on by this show when it first premiered in the fall but after numerous recommendations from friends, I decided to give it a shot! It's actually really good! I was pleasantly surprised! I'm 4 episodes in and I'm definitely hooked!

Holiday Favorite!

I hope everyone survived monday and getting back into the groove of work/life! Good luck to anyone who still has finals! I know some of my friends are finishing up their last final today! Can you believe that!? I've been home since Saturday and students are JUST finishing their finals today! SO not fair!

Anyways...last week I mentioned that I had baked a Brie en Croute for a holiday party I attended and wanted to share the recipe with you all! It's super easy and doesn't require a ton of ingredients that you wouldn't already have in your kitchen! You can buy the nuts and jam in bulk and save for later use!

The ingredients are:

1 sheet frozen puff pastry (package comes with 2 sheets)

1 tablespoon butter

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1 tablespoon butter

1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1 small (8-ounce) wheel Brie

1/2 cup raspberry jam

2 eggs, beaten

The full recipe can be found here...I chose Paula Dean's because it seemed the simplest and required the least complicated ingredients aka things I would most likely have in my kitchen. I already had pecans because I use them in my cottage cheese (such a delicious breakfast dish btw!) and just had to buy the jam! The downside is that the puff pastry is sold in a pack of two so unless you refreeze one of them, you need to use both within the same week. I actually made the same dish for a potluck meeting I had later that week but there are tons of other ideas for puff pastry here!

It tasted DELICIOUS and was a definite crowd pleaser! My one issue was the mess of the whole thing- serving it was a slight issue since the cheese melts its quite tough to scoop up onto a cracker or plate- any suggestions for this?

Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and I can't wait to read all about it on your lovely blogs! I was back at Lilly today so I was able to finish the last of my Christmas shopping! Tonight I finished wrapping all my gifts and put them under the tree! The onlyy gift I have yet to figure out is something for my 9 year old nephew...he's really into legos? I guess...but also loves gameboy so I might stick to getting him a game- but any creative suggestions?!

As I mentioned yesterday- I got home late Saturday night (the flight was 45 minutes long! hellooo flying is SO much better than sitting on a 4-5 hour bus ride- gah) and on Sunday we decorated my tree and apartment for Christmas with my niece and nephew! And then we were off to my cousins apartment in the city for a Christmas party! Here is my sunday in photos (warning photo overload!):

The whole afternoon and evening was a perfect first day back in New York. It was great reuniting with family who I haven't seen for a long time, especially around the holiday season. All of the food was homemade and absolutely delicious! My cousin's husband was responsible for the entire meal and he is an absolute genius in the kitchen! I'm glad we all get to spend Christmas together just next week!

And I'm backk....!

I just got back to NYC last night and I could not be happier to be home with my family! The last two days in Boston was a bit crazy...laundry, packing, cleaning, OH and taking my exam...so I guess studying also! But it's all over now! One month of completeee relaxation (with a little work at Lilly of course!)!

My family arrived from Germany yesterday also...did I mention I have family in Germany? My sister moved there with her husband (who is German) and raised their kids there aka my niece and nephew! I only get to see them twice a year so I was sooo excited to get home and reunite with them! Giulia is 11 and Alexander is 9! They are my favorite children in the whole wide world and I cannot wait to cuddle and play with them all of break!

Today we're decorating my tree and apartment for Christmas and then we're off to my cousins for a pre-christmas party! (pictures to come tomorrow!) So before I sign off here are some cute Christmas photos from Pinterest (of course)...

Weekend Recap!

Happy Monday Readers!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! December has been flying by! I can't believe I only have one more week left in Boston before I go home for about 3 weeks! And then when I return- we have formal recruitment and get new babies! WHY AM I SO OLD?

Well, as everyone else, December is filled with holiday parties, holiday shopping, baking, cooking, etc! It's my favorite month of the year! (Well besides May, which is my birthday month!). On Thursday, a few friends and I, got manicures for semi formal and did a little shopping on Newbury Street. One of my best friends is a brand ambassador for Madewell and was hosting an event at their store. It was 50% off sale items! Such a good deal! Here are two things I picked up!

I got both of these items for only $12!

Of course, a trip to Newbury Street isn't complete without stopping at Forever 21! I picked up these items there:

On Thursday night I went to a holiday party at Bijou (a new club in downtown Boston!)- it was a White Party in honor of the holiday season so the whole club was covered in white balloons and confetti!

And then Friday was SEMI FORMAL! I'm not sure if like semi formal or spring formal better. Semi-formal has the Christmas feel but typically my chapter does spring formal at a cool location and it's always a surprise! Here are some photos from semi! I'm wearing a Lilly, Naomi dress!

Then on Saturday, I went to one of my professor's holiday party! It was such a nice time and her home was very festive! I've had this particular professor for 2 classes and I'm signed up for her Event Management class next semester! Everyone had to bring a dish or a beverage so I decided to make Brie en Croute. I'm going to post the recipe and photos tomorrow because I highly recommend it to everyone who needs to prepare an easy but delicious appetizer for a winter party! Here's the final product for now!

I spent Saturday afternoon Christmas shopping! I got presents for all my friends in Boston and a few for family in New York. I have to finish family shopping at home since I'm flying home for break, I won't be able to carry much!

(Unfortunately we weren't able to get a tree this year :( so we put all of our presents around the TV- some of these are my roommates!)

Saturday night, my roommates and I had a family dinner! We made fresh pasta sauce, garlic bread and a big salad! As we ate, we of course watched 25 Days of Christmas on ABC Family! I made cupcakes for dessert!

Then on Saturday night, I decided to go to a Christmas party at a Harvard Finals Club (the plus of living in Boston!) The house had an AMAZING christmas tree and all the boys were dressed up in cute Christmas gear! It was such a fun night!

AND THENN...on Sunday morning, my sorority had our annual End-of-Semester brunch! This is a big tradition in our chapter and the best way to get together one last time before the end of the semester and say farewell to sisters traveling abroad in the spring. We also do our officer installation ritual aka I officially installed our new president who also happens to be my little sister! I cannot believe my year as president has come to an end! It has been such a rewarding experience, that I would never change in the world. I learned so much about myself and gained so many valuable qualities that will most definitely assist me in the future. Of course, since I can't handle graduating and moving on- I teared up during the ritual (can you say embarrassing?) but AEPhi has been such a huge part of my life for the past year it's going to be SUCH a strange adjustment not being president anymore. But I know I'm leaving the chapter in amazing hands and I couldn't be prouder that my little is taking over!

So that was my weekend! I spent Sunday afternoon and evening watching an SVU marathon and eating pad thai haha- first night of no presidential responsibilities!

It's OK Thursdays!

It's OK...that today was the last day of classes! Just one final until CHRISTMAS BREAK! I'm soo close I can taste it!

BUT It's (not) OK...that today was the last day of classes? Why? BECAUSE THAT MEANS I ONLY HAVE ONE SEMESTER LEFT OF COLLEGE! I don't want to leaveee....ever....

It's OK...that today is the start of the weekend! Such a great weekend coming up! Semi-Formal tomorrow, holiday party at a professors saturday (I'm making Brie En Croute...any recipe suggestions?!) and AEPhi's End of Semester Brunch and official Officer Installation on Sunday! aka that means that besides helping with formal recruitment in january, I can officially wipe my hands of my presidential duties. WOAH, separate post to come on that...

It's OK...that I finallyyy got my first manicure today since september (tomorrow is semi-formal)...the prices in Boston just kill me compared to how cheap it is in NYC. I can get a mani/pedi for only $20 back home! Such a steal!

It's OK....that I tried to do some Christmas shopping this afternoon and ended up buying something for myself (okay maybe not okay, sorry mom if you're reading this!) But they were steals! I'll post photos tomorrow!

It's (really) OK...that I got an A- on this blog project! I was so happy/proud when I got my paper back the other day! And I love that this is something I plan on continuing even though the semester is over!

It's OK...that winter break means being back at Lilly! Christmas shopping here I come!
