Top 5 Tuesday: Best Distractions from Finals/Workers

Just Peachy

Happy Tuesday Readers!

I'm linking up with Rachel from Just Peachy again for top 5 Tuesdays! This week's topic is Top 5 Distractions from Finals/Work!

1. (obviously) Facebook/Twitter/Foursquare

I'm not ashamed to admit that I am social media obsessed. I check-in everywhere I go and try to always tweet about it. It's very likely that I will be logged into facebook every-time my computer is opened. Is this pathetic? Definitely. But hey! Sometimes working on media project after media project- a girl needs some distractions!

Also, all of my PR professors constantly encourage us to engage in social media and take advantage of the various platforms out there- so really my social media stalking is part of my homework!

2. Online Television

SO I am also not ashamed to admit that I have an unhealthy obsession with television shows. I enjoy keeping up with shows each week much more than I enjoy the occasional movie (call me weird, it's fine). Here is my list of current shows:
Panam
Desperate Housewives
Gossip Girl
Hart of Dixie
Glee
Grey's Anatomy
Blue Bloods
I think it's safe to say, I have a problem. BUT what does this have to do with distractions from work or finals...well I often am not home when these shows are on because of work, meetings, events, etc SO in the mornings or afternoons when I SHOULD be catching up on work, emails, blogging...I tend to instead catch up on my television WOOPS. ch131.com is my new boyfriend and we're in a very happy and healthy relationship.

(one of my favorite on-air couples!)

3. Pinterest and BLOGGING

As of this September, I have two new huge obsessions- blogging and pinning! I don't know how I lived  without these two social platforms before! Though I do enjoy reading other blogger's posts rather than writing my own- when I get down to actually writing, it really is something I enjoy. Isn't it interesting how much easier it is to write a blog post than a final paper....hey professors- what if all our final papers were blog papers- OH WAIT! That happened to me this semester....

Also, Pinterest is another recent obsession that is a terrific distraction from finals and studying! I love all the great finds on Pinterest and can't wait for winter break add more pins to my boards and to try out some crafts and recipes!

4. Snacking

UGH...one of my guilty habits but it's so so difficult to concentrate on my final papers and exams without snacks! Creating and making snacks are a great distraction from work and then can also motivate you to keep working! I try to stay healthy but my favorite snacks are most definitely Pirate's Booty and Sour Patch Watermelon! I have such a soft spot for them! But I also try to go with celery and hummus or maybe pretzels with peanut butter, apple with peanut butter, banana with peanut butter (okay so maybe anything with peanut butter...), or a piece of skinny cow cheese and a few kashi crackers is another good choice!

What are your favorite study snacks?

5. Etsy.com

I posted about Etsy here so it's no secret that I'm a huge fan of this shopping site. I could browse all the different handmade jewelry and preppy gear for hours (which is just SO much more fun than final papers and projects, in my opinion...)

The newest item on my Etsy wish-list is a monogrammed cell phone case for my new Samsung Galaxy! Any suggestions?!

BUT ALL IN ALL:

Quote of the Day!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and is ready to start the week! Only two more weeks until my senior fall semester is over. I've been experiencing so many emotions these past few weeks about how half the year is almost over and I am in no way prepared to graduate but am so excited for the future and next semester and everything that is coming my way! I thought this quote summed up perfectly how I've been feeling. That no matter, where I get a job, where I live, who I live with, where my best friends move to- everything happens for a reason and that things will work out.

The next couple of days will be a little crazy for me so I promise to catch up with you all in the middle of the week!

ps I received my keychain from Caitlin from Peaches & Pearls giveaway last friday and I couldn't be happier with it! I loveee it!

pps be sure to check out Crystal's (from Coffee at Nordstrom) giveaway from Miss Knit Nat! I've had my eye on one of these headbands all fall!
ppps also check out Ashley's (from Everyday AEM) giveaway from Colorlinks!

It's OK Thursdays!

Happy Thursdays Readers and happy December!  I hope everyone is having a great week and is gearing up for the weekend!

There's a TON of things I'm okay with today...

It's OK...that I finished my paper for my blog project last night...the reason I started Pink Zin was because of an assignment for one of my classes (hi Professor Quigley!) and couldn't have imagined that I would fall in love with blogging so much, meet so many amazing people and really just find a hobby that I truly enjoy. I definitely don't plan on abandoning Pink Zin just because my project is done!

It's (really) OK...that I received two plaid flannel shirts in the mail last night! They were a surprise from my mom and an early Christmas present! When I was home for Thanksgiving break I couldn't stop talking about how much I wanted a flannel for the bitter winter months! She picked them up at Old Navy and I'm in love! They're super oversized and comfortable- perfect for finals studying!

It's (really) okay...that I received my package from Pink Gasoline last night! I mentioned this on Monday but I purchased a monogrammed coffee cozy and keychain last week and was eagerly anticipating its' arrival!

(used it this morning! such a nice touch to my disposable coffee cup!)

It's OK...that I finally received my sorority's stationary in the mail yesterday (it was quite the day for packages!) Now we can have personalized stationary to send thank you notes to our panhellenic sisters!

(They were ordered from Alpha Stationary in Indiana)

It's (not) OK...that fall semester is over in less than 2 weeks...that means I only have one more semester left at college...that means I'm one semester closer to graduating and entering the real world. WHAT THE HECK? I'm not ready to leave!

It's OK...that I missed the Victoria Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday..though I try to watch it every year because it is definitely an amazing show and super entertaining...I always feel just a tad bad about myself after watching...call me superficial, whatever

It's OK...that I want everything on Carly from College Prepster's monogram gift guide. But for myself...it's not acceptable to buy presents for yourself when Christmas is only 25 days away, right?!

It's (really) OK...that it's december 1st because this means many things..
1. Boston finally has cooled down! It felt downright wrong that I could walk around in shorts and a sweat shirt when I should be in the Christmas spirit. Some people hate the drop in temperature but I'm not ashamed to say I love it.
2. December 1st means the start of ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas. I love Christmas movies...I don't care how old I am but I will always love a cheesy holiday movie!
3. Secret Santa! This winter I am participating in three different Secret Santas! One within my sorority, one with the other presidents of the sororities on campus, andd the one I'm probably most excited for- the Holly Jolly Secret Santa Swap hosted by Crystal from Coffee at NordstromEmily from Life of Emily, and Ashley from Everyday AEM! I sent out a Christmas card to my secret santa this morning and I cannot wait to receive mine in the mail!

What is OK about your Thursday?!

XOXO
